January began with a VA Peninsula Chapter organizational meeting to review our current status, discuss ideas and refine plans. We met at Center Street Grill, 5101 Center St, Williamsburg, VA 23185 at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 20th.
February 18th – We enjoyed a Valentine’s Day Brunch at La Tienda.
March 17th – We joined the Hampton Roads Chapter for a joint luncheon at the James River Country Club in Newport News. Mike Petters, HII Pres/CEO was our keynote speaker.
April 13th – Our luncheon was held at Le Yaca where Howard Hoege, Pres / CEO of The Mariners Museum and Park, gave a presentation on the Park’s history and current operations.
May 18th – we attended a special night at the Mariners Museum and Park in Newport News. The Hampton Roads USNAAA Chapter, ASNE, West Point Society, USMMA and Mustang organizations participated.
May 19th – We arranged a Gauthier Vineyard tour and wine tasting in New Kent County where we invited the Hampton Roads and Richmond Chapters to join us.
June 22nd – Doug Norton ’65, discussed his Code Word Series of books along with current events in North Korea. We met for lunch at Cochon on 2nd St in Williamsburg.
July 22nd – To escape the summer heat, we will be spearheading some family fun at the new indoor golf tavern, Revolution Golf and Grille, 1430 High St, Williamsburg.
August 3rd – Bill Riffer ’68 will be sharing his insights on Submarine Warfare at our luncheon at Le Yaca.
September 17th – Congressman Wittman (R-VA) will visit us for a town hall meeting and luncheon at Patriots Colony, Williamsburg.
October – Founder’s Day luncheon, brunch, or dinner at Riverside in Old Yorktown. Venues and ideas are being solicited.
November – Mike Carron ’68, Ph.D. will share his experience as Program Director for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative. (location tbd, this may be a joint event with W&M).
December – Army / Navy Game 2018
