October 9th:  Congresswoman Luria – a Zoom meeting at noon.  She is on the Naval Academy’s Board of Visitors and will have some great insights to share.  Congresswoman Luria is on several Committees and Caucuses of interest, check them out:  https://luria.house.gov/about/committees-and-caucusesLuria.House.Gov


December 7th:   Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Molly Mitchell, PhD.  Topic:  Sea Level Rise.  Dr. Molly Mitchell is a Research Assistant Professor with the Center for Coastal Resources Management, Virginia Institute of Marine Science. For over a decade she has advised on the state and local level with regards to Chesapeake Bay natural resources and human impact. Her current projects include Chesapeake Bay shorescape sustainability in terms of climate change, management decisions, and ecological function; sea-level report cards that show trends and projections of sea level rise to assist in coastal planning; and enhancing coastal wetlands in Virginia to mitigate climate change impacts. Dr. Mitchell received her Ph.D. in Marine Science at VIMS.  Attached is the presentation from the meeting.

Event Schedule:  January – June 2020:
January 25 – Dark Ages Annual Party at Revolution Golf, Williamsburg.    Time:  12 noon
          The purpose is to get together to update everyone, have a discussion of the 2020 Calendar of Events and solicit ideas.
          Please note:  The Army – Navy B-ball game is at 1:30 and we may be able to view it.
February 14 – Valentines Party at La Tienda, Jamestown Road, Williamsburg.  Time: TBD
February 21 – Visit with Congressman Wittman at Patriot’s Colony followed by lunch.  Time: 11 am
February 22 –  Army – Navy Wrestling at Revolution Golf & Grille, Williamsburg.  Time:  7:30 pm
March 27 – POSTPONED TO THE FALL …….  Lunch at La Yacca, 12 noon.   Speaker: Bob Lynch, BGO.  An update on the program and what is happening on the peninsula.  Cost:$35
April 18  POSTPONED TO THE FALL  – Joint Luncheon at the James River Country Club, 12 noon.  Speaker to be determined.  Cost: $35
May 2   POSTPONED TO THE FALL – We will do a tour of AleWerks in Williamsburg and do a beer tasting.  There will be food trucks and Al Whitaker ’60 will explain how he became involved in building a microbrewery as his retirement project.  Time:  12 noon
